What Vesta calculates

Vesta calculates wellness planning estimates, not medical measurements. Values may include meal energy, macronutrients, hydration progress, activity context, plan targets, grocery quantities, and pattern-based insight signals.

The app is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, prevent, monitor, or cure disease. Estimates are designed for reflection and editing.

Nutrition and food data sources

USDA FoodData Central is used for generic food composition data where available. Open Food Facts may be used for packaged barcode foods and label-derived nutrition where available.

Values entered manually, nutrition labels reviewed by the user, and edits made inside the app override automated estimates. AI may estimate missing portions or nutrients when a source is incomplete; those values remain editable before saving.

Plan and target methodology

Targets are generated from the user's profile, goals, preferences, logged meals, and optional Apple Health summaries when the user chooses to share them.

Vesta uses public dietary reference concepts for general wellness planning, including Dietary Guidelines for Americans and Dietary Reference Intakes. It does not prescribe clinical targets.

Weekly Read methodology

The weekly read is a simple reflection signal built from logged-meal coverage, calorie target alignment, protein target alignment, hydration target progress, day-to-day consistency, step averages, and workout sessions when those data are available.

It is not a medical score, risk score, diagnosis, or clinical monitoring tool.

Activity and Apple Health context

Steps, workouts, sleep, weight, heart-rate summaries, active energy, nutrition, and hydration can come from Apple Health only after iOS permission.

Vesta uses Apple Health summaries as context for wellness planning and does not treat them as diagnosis or clinical monitoring. Movement guidance is general wellness context and should be adjusted to ability, environment, and professional advice.

AI limits and professional advice

AI output may be incomplete or wrong. Vesta asks users to review estimates before saving meal logs or writing data to Apple Health.

Speak with a doctor, registered dietitian, pharmacist, or other qualified professional before making medical, medication, supplement, weight-management, pregnancy, eating-disorder, or prescribed-diet decisions.
